A shoppable scheme with folky graphic wallpapers at its core

Using artist Georgie Hopton's vegetable-printed wallpapers and fabrics as a starting point, Ruth Sleightholme creates simple schemes that recount a tale of white walls, plain oak furniture and unembellished drapery, enlivened by bright colours and assorted figurines.

Each year, especially around harvest time, British artist Georgie Hopton gathers homegrown vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, kohlrabi and squash, and foliage from her garden, then uses them to create striking artwork. She slices them in half, covers the cut surface in paint and produces prints on paper that have a naive charm and unexpectedly abstract look, revealing her excellent eye for colour and composition. Realising that these prints lent themselves to pattern repeats, she decided to convert a few into a small collection of wallpapers and fabrics, all printed in the UK and sold through her gallery Lyndsey Ingram.
